Although osteomyelitis of the foot in diabetic patients is generally considered a difficult infection to cure, the literature contains few reports comparing various treatment regimens. We have described two diabetic patients with osteomyelitis of the foot treated with oral antibiotics chosen on the basis of their broad activity against the pathogens commonly found in such infections. Both patients responded well to therapy and have shown no evidence of active osteomyelitis for 11 and four months, respectively.
