This article describes the application of quantitative cardiac analysis in a high volume clinical environment. Computerized evaluation is applied for measurement of coronary artery stenoses, and for determination of global and regional ventricular functions. About 5,000 diagnostic examinations are performed annually, together with some 1,200 interventions. In addition, there is a substantial clinical research program. In view of the heavy patient load, computerized analysis is performed off-line, in a separate image processing laboratory. The workstations and laboratories are connected by a local area network, with fibre-optic links between the buildings.
