A high pressure gas scintillator of large volume (400 cm3) is described, the pulse height of which is independent of the point of scintillation within 2%. This is accomplished by the use of two photomultipliers in coincidence. Additionally, the best performance of gas composition, reflectors and thicknesses of the wave length shifter on the wall and on the windows is reported. © 1967.
