Teaching Activities
As a director of resident research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke, I co-designed a didactic research education curriculum for trainees. This is a core 12 lecture series delivered over a 2 year time frame, and includes the following topics: the nuts and bolts of research, literature search/reference management, regulatory aspects of research, trainee research grant application and management, basic study designs, clinical study metrics, communicating with statisticians, basic science/translational research topics, qualitative research, quality improvement versus research, how to give research presentations, publication of research, and how to respond to reviewer comments.
I currently teach LIC program medical students in my weekly gynecologic oncology clinics at Macon Pond.
